ABOUT US

Bula and hello,

We are Josh and Chris, husband and wife and budding entrepreneurs from the Pacific Island nation of Fiji. We want to also take you on a journey of our childhood, which we believe was typical of anyone who spent their early years on the islands with close family and friends.

Firstly, the name ‘Raiwaqa’ (Rahy-wuhng-gar/Raɪ-wʌŋ-ɡɑː). This was and remains a suburban concrete jungle in Fiji’s capital city. We chose it for a name not only because that is where we are both from, but because we believe that in order to progress successfully in life, you should never forget your beginning, however humble that may be.

Raiwaqa was a tough area to grow up in. Nothing was handed to you on a plate, and there was not a lot of land to subsist on if you wanted to supplement the meagre earnings you made. It meant life was a struggle and everything was earned through sheer hard work. It is an ethic that has shaped us and we are grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the UK community, all while acknowledging our roots. 

The products that we have chosen for distribution are just a small reminder of our humble backgrounds and to also take you back through your own journey before you took the big step to relocate to the United Kingdom.

We aim to provide high quality goods and service to each customer and hope that this is just the beginning of our journey.
